Just as every culture has found ways of living life in a different way, each has also found different and sometimes seemingly odd customs surrounding death and dying. In this course, you will learn about various funeral and burial customs practiced throughout history and across cultures.

Leah Rohlfsen is Associate Professor and Chair in the Sociology Department at SLU. She teaches introductory sociology and upper level research methods courses as well as courses on medicine, health, aging, and death and dying. Her research interests include racial and gender differences in health.
