September 06, 2014 - DOCUMENTS POSTED (in the upper right corner) are all up-to-date as of post date. Check the list below often to view currently relevant notices.
September 15, 2014 - NOTE: If you are attending a SOAR class at SLU, park ONLY in "LOT J" or "LOT D." MORE NOTES: 1) Do not park in any spot reserved for "Faculty" or "Visitor"; 2) In "LOT J" you need to hang your SUNY Potsdam permit on your rearview mirror; your SUNY retiree's sticker should also work; 3) "LOT D" is open parking; no permit required. LOCATION NOTES: "LOT J" is just beyond the science complex; "LOT D" is behind and on the tennis court side of the sports complex (and it does NOT include "LOT K", the small lot that faces Park St.) (the back area of "LOT H" - by Vilas Hall - is no longer available; it has been converted to parking spots for students living in the new dorm. The Campus Safety and Security knows when and where our SOAR classes are. If you have followed these rules and do get a ticket; contest it. Campus Safety and Security office is located in the back part (entrance at the back of the building) of the student Health Center at 76 Park St.

September 03, 2014 - Nature Up North: Citizen Science Projects There has been a room change for "Nature up North..." The classes will be held in Johnson 101 (almost opposite the original room: Johnson 112)
September 12, 2014 - Amazonian Army Ants: Their Secret Lives There has been a change of room for "Amazonian Army Ants..." The new location is SLU: Bewkes 303.
August 28, 2014 - Oil and Chaos: Ukraine, Russia and USA The presentation "Oil and Chaos..." has been scheduled for Friday, November 14, 10:00-11:30 at SUNY Potsdam: Maxcy 104.
August 19, 2014 - Vegetarian Cooking Goes Local The correct 3 dates for "Vegetarian Cooking Goes Local" are: 9/15, 9/29, 10/6 (note: there is no class on 9/22). On the blue calendar insert the 9/29 date was unintentionally omitted; the dates are correct everywhere else).
August 15, 2014 - Financial Planning for Seniors The correct location for "Financial Planning..." is SLCHA: Silas Wright House in Canton (the location on the print calendar has the wrong location; it is correct elsewhere).
August 15, 2014 - Pre- and Post-Election Analysis At the request of the presenter, "Pre- and Post-Election Analysis" has been canceled.
September 05, 2014 - The Virtual Sublime: Simulating the Romantic and Uncanny The presentation "The Virtual Sublime..." has been canceled.
September 06, 2014 - Leon LeBeau's SOAR art students (past and present) will be exhibiting their art work at the Potsdam Town Hall September 19 - November 5. SOAR members are encouraged to attend the public reception at the Potsdam Town Hall on Friday, 5-7pm, October 3. (Leon's art students: see the course page for "Art Workshop A" for more info on preparation of display pieces, drop-off, pick-up, etc.)
