ROAD UPDATES (getting to Indian Creek Nature Center). Allow 1/2 hour extra travel time! Main St. Canton is closed to through traffic. From Potsdam on Hwy 11, detour right at the traffic light onto CR 310 (Stewarts/Pizza Hut corner); then left at next traffic light onto State Street (by Maplewood and Partridge Knoll) which angles back into town; turn left at the stop sign onto Riverside Dr. and right onto Hwy 11 / Rt.68. Continue on Rt 68 towards Ogdensburg. In about 3.5 miles, turn left onto CR 14 south towards Rensselaer Falls. NOTE: CR 14 north comes first - there is an tanker truck oil spill being cleaned up at this point and traffic on Rt. 68 is one way (flagmen) for about 500 feet (minor slow down). CR 14 south to Rensselaer Falls "T's" with Hwy 68 about 1000' west of the oil spill; normal access to this juncture. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Come see the reactions and preparations of birds, mammals and plants at the onset of autumn in the St. Lawrence Valley. We will examine various flora and fauna at Indian Creek Nature Center and see how they are doing.

Peter O’Shea is an Adirondack naturalist. He is the author of two books on wildlife: Great South Woods: Rambles of an Adirondack Naturalist and Great South Woods...more to the story.
