The 1918 fl u epidemic has been called “The Plague of the Spanish Lady.” This course provides a history of the 1918 fl u pandemic* and its implications for another similar event in the future. Special attention is paid to the impact of this pandemic on daily life.

Fran Van Horne is a retired nursing instructor and health educator. She is particularly interested in public health, especially in the area of communicable diseases.
