Eve Stoddard is Dana Professor of Global Studies at St. Lawrence University. Her PhD is in English, but starting in the early 1990s she has been engaged in global faculty and development projects focusing on the former British empire. Eve recently published a book on parallels between British colonization in the Caribbean and in Ireland on the basis of the design of plantation spaces. For the past seven years, Eve and her husband have been taking St. Lawrence students to Ireland and Northern Ireland in July. During that time the Orange Order holds parades celebrating its triumph over Catholic Ireland in 1690. They also spend time with peace workers in Belfast and Derry.
