John Lancaster

Print Info

John Lancaster is an ex marine commander who served in the Vietnam War. He was wounded and for the rest of his life he will be using a wheelchair. After his military service he returned home and when well enough to do so, he went to law school to become a lawyer. His circumstances and career choices eventually led him to activism for the handicapped.  For several years he served on one of Presedent Clinton's task forces as an advocate for the handicapped. This led to the unusual circumstance of also being an advocate for Vietnamese handicapped people, some of which also fought in Vietnam War, or the "War of Invasion" (as perceived by many of the Vietnamese). While in peace-time Vietnam, John encountered the commander of the vietnamese force that had attacked his troops that day when he was wounded. Some sense of closure ensued.
