Mark Coleman

Mark Coleman is a SUNY Professor English Emeritus. At SUNY Potsdam he taught the year-long Shakespeare course for 15 years, making extensive in-classroom use of filmed performances. He has taught SOAR classes on filmed versions of Henry V, Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet.
Mark also taught at the American University in Bulgaria where some of his students were from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Mark and his wife Cynthia's travels off the beaten path began with ten weeks behind the Iron Curtain in 1970 and have continued to more recent trips. Their SOAR presentations have taken us to the "Stans" (spring 2010), to the "Ducal Courts of Italy" (spring 2011), to "Trans-Caucsus: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia" (fall 2013), and now, in spring 2015, to a trip "Around the Baltic Sea."
Mark was Chair of the SOAR Board from Fall 2018 until Spring 2020.
He has undertaken rigorous training in hosting Zoom conferences under the preceptorship of his grandson.
