Print Info

Aileen O’Donoghue is an active astronomical researcher who has been in love with watching the sky all her life. She holds physics degrees from New Mexico Tech, where she studied both astronomy and atmospheric physics. Aileen has taught physics at SLU for over 30 years, along with courses on global climate, meteorology, climate history, and climate change.

She is active in astronomical research and LOVES watching the sky and sharing her knowledge of it. As she says, “It’s so enriching to know what’s going on when you look at celestial objects!" She appears monthly on North Country Public Radio to discuss the sky, and  serves on the board of trustees of the Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory.

Aileen is a frequent, and popular, presenter for SOAR. In fall 2016, she was given the "Leon LeBeau SOARing Eductor Award."
