Mary Jo Whalen is a world traveler and no stranger to SOAR. Fall 2010 she presented a talk on her trip to the Galapagos Islands. When asked as to why she went there, her answer was "because the price was right."  In Fall 2012 she will be talking about her small ship tour of SE Alaska.

Mary Jo has served on SOAR committees and also is a former board member. Over the years, she has given other lectures on her adventures abroad and also presented several courses on the Great Camps of the Adirondacks.
