It is possible to create a home in the North Country that is 100% heated and powered year-round by the sun. Jon Montan will describe how he and his wife Kathy successfully achieved this goal.

Jon Montan worked as a planner in the St. Lawrence County Planning Office for over 30 years, spending much of his time on environmental issues. He retired from County service in 2012. Jon has had a longstanding interest in renewable energy and lived “off-grid” for 35 years. Now he and his wife live “on-grid” but continue a tradition of sustainable living.
