This presentation will discuss the use of paper as a functional material for the development of field portable instrumentation. There will be examples of environmental applications as well as examples for point-of-care diagnostics, public safety and food quality control.

Silvana Andreescu is the Egon Matijević Chair in Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University. Her research activities focus on the development of functional materials and devices for diagnostic, therapeutic, bioelectronic, environmental, and energy-related applications.
