The New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is a volunteer- based program that provides information and/or advocacy for residents in long term care facilities. Ombudsmen help residents understand and exercise their right to good care that ensures preservation of their dignity and respect in an environment where they can enjoy a good quality life.

Winny Sachno has been a Catholic Charities employee for 23+ years. She is the coordinator for the Ombudsman Program in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties.
