Three different scripts are used in Japanese: Kanji (borrowed from China), Hiragana and Katakana. First we focus on simple Kanji – how they originated and how they are written. Then we will talk about Hiragana and Katakana; both are phonetic scripts which make Japanese writing uniquely different from Chinese.
Kyoko Yapa was born and raised in Japan. She has experience as a tutor in conversational Japanese.
