There are a number of holidays in the month of December (Christmas and Hanukkah being only two of them), and over the centuries many traditions have developed, influencing how we celebrate these special days. In this course, we will examine some of the historical details of why we do what we do in December.

John Ohst is an Asst. Professor Emeritus. He has taught English classes at Onondaga Community College, Le Moyne College, SUNY-Oswego, and SUNY-Canton. He now enjoys being outdoors: walking, biking, canoeing, or gardening. Indoors, he likes woodworking and reading many kinds of books, including books for kids! He also loves basketball.
