The presenter will lead a short foray to collect local mushrooms. The class will then practice the techniques necessary to identify common mushrooms in the field.
Karl McKnight is a naturalist and author. He is acquainted with the flora, fauna, fungi, and ecology of our local forests. Karl is a Professor of Biology at SLU where he has taught for many years.
NOTE: 1) Must be able to walk in the woods; walking shoes are required (rain gear, if appropriate); pocket knife, collecting basket and waxed paper – optional; 2) This session will be offered twice; participants should sign up for only one session.
