“Interpersonal Communication” is the study of the why’s and how’s of human relationships – in the work place, in families, between friends, in romances or in adversarial situations. How do we “do” relationships? How do we talk about them? How does our culture talk to us about them? This class explores the complexities and challenges of close interpersonal relationships, and pays particular attention to the role digital technologies play in the creation and maintenance of intimacy.
Traci Fordham is an associate professor at SLU. She teaches in the “Performance and Communication Arts Department” and in the “Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.” Among her specialities – intercultural and interpersonal communications.
