NOTE: This course includes a field to trip on October 9 (same time) to the Frederic Remington Art Museum (303 Washington, St., Ogdensburg); entrance fee is $7 (senior/group rate). Click on the Additional Location "Frederic Reminton Art Museum" above to get field trip information (map, directions, parking, accessibility, etc.)

Explore Remington’s early years in Canton, his development as an illustrator, his exploration of modeling and bronze casting, and finally his desire to be known as a fine artist (which is manifest in his experimentation with nocturnes and impressionism).

Ted Linn has been a docent and gallery attendant at the Remington Museum for over ten years. Early on, he gave a “tea talk” on Remington at the museum. He was also the keynote speaker for the Canton Remington Art Festival one year. Ted’s interest in Remington and his works has only grown over the years.
