This course begins on Day 1 with an illustrated lecture on the history of the local sandstone industry and features photos of signifi cant buildings constructed of Potsdam sandstone. On Day 2, participants will take a guided walking tour to look at centrally located Potsdam sandstone buildings.

Susan Omohundro became interested in Potsdam sandstone after she and her husband bought a sandstone house in Hannawa Falls in 1983. John Bridges is a former stone mason. He currently works as a historic preservation consultant.

NOTE: Day 1 is an evening lecture at the Potsdam Museum; meet also at the museum the next morning for the walking tour (wear comfortable shoes).
